40th Anniversary

We celebrated Mom and Dad's 40th Anniversary this past weekend.  We lounged on the deck enjoying the sunny weather and then ordered from Town.  Terry baked a double chocolate bundt cake.  Emma had a blast blowing out the candles..

We took the opportunity to take formal pics at the hospital since it may be Lani's only opportunity to have self portraits with mommy and daddy.   

Lani's One Month Celebration

Can't believe Lani is one month old already!!  Following Chinese tradition, we celebrated Lani's one month birthday by having a banquet.  As customary, she received gold jewelry from big Auntie Angel and Pau Pau/Gong Gong.

The banquet took place at Cooking Papa, Suki's favorite Chinese restaurant located in Foster City.  We were joined by Mark, Rachael, and the Miyashitas.  We also celebrated Hinamatsuri, Japanese Girl's Day, with a custom strawberry shortcake.

First Outing

The weather has been so beautiful that it would be a shame if we couldn't go out.  Since my mom is not so strict about the one month confinement, we took Lani out on Thursday.  Here's her 'excited' picture:

We bought the skateboard add-on to the Orbit system and couldn't wait for Emma to try it.  We walked to downtown San Carlos yesterday and here is Emma's first attempt on the skateboard:

Lani's First Bath

Lani had her first bath today and she did not love the water

She did come out squeaky clean.  Love all that hair!

Emma the Painter

One of our many house projects is painting the fireplace mantel.  Emma was a great helper in helping Roger paint.  She loves to draw with crayons and paint with watercolors.  Maybe she will be the artist in the family...

Auntie Judy Visit

Thanks Auntie Judy for visiting us last weekend!!  You made Emma feel extra special (she loves the tea set!).  We hope to visit you and Uncle Chuck soon!
