First Outing

The weather has been so beautiful that it would be a shame if we couldn't go out.  Since my mom is not so strict about the one month confinement, we took Lani out on Thursday.  Here's her 'excited' picture:

We bought the skateboard add-on to the Orbit system and couldn't wait for Emma to try it.  We walked to downtown San Carlos yesterday and here is Emma's first attempt on the skateboard:

Lani's First Bath

Lani had her first bath today and she did not love the water

She did come out squeaky clean.  Love all that hair!

Emma the Painter

One of our many house projects is painting the fireplace mantel.  Emma was a great helper in helping Roger paint.  She loves to draw with crayons and paint with watercolors.  Maybe she will be the artist in the family...

Auntie Judy Visit

Thanks Auntie Judy for visiting us last weekend!!  You made Emma feel extra special (she loves the tea set!).  We hope to visit you and Uncle Chuck soon!

Lani - Week 2

We've survived 2 weeks!  

Lani is actually a really good baby - maybe because we put her on a feeding schedule (every 3 hours) early - or just that she's a very sleepy baby and doesn't fuss much.  The only time she cries is when she's hungry.   The bad thing is Emma passed her cooties to Roger and Lani so both are suffering.  Having a 2 week old with sinus congestion and cough is not fun.  But it can only get better, right?

Chinese New Year Celebration

With the arrival of Lani we had to celebrate Chinese New Year a bit late.  However, it was definitely more festive with my mom being in town.  We ordered from a nearby Chinese restaurant and celebrated with champagne, sake and beer.  It's so good to finally be able to drink again (at least a lil bit!)

Introducing Lani

Introducing Lani Mei Xue Toguchi! She was born on January 29, 2014 at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City.  Her birth weight was 7 lb and 7 oz and height was 20 inches.  She joined us just in time to celebrate Chinese New Year!  She will be the Year of the Horse per the Japanese calendar.
